2 years, 2 kids, 3 moves, 2 states later..

The hubby and I recently celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary. We had an awesome time. It was nice to spend time together just the two of us. I surprised Rashad with a whole weekend planned out.

We started off by waking up at the crack of dawn and driving to Rockville and zip lining at Go Ape! It was an awesome experience and we worked together and got through the course really fast.
We then drove to Baltimore to our hotel Lord Baltimore. Our stay there was so so.  We stayed club level which includes a wine and cheese tasting and breakfast. If I stayed in Baltimore again I wouldn't stay there again. I'll get to why in a little bit..but on to the rest of our day.
We got ready for the Orioles and Nationals game. I got club level picnic perch tickets and they were awesome!! Picnic perch tickets included unlimited hotdogs, nachos, salad, ice cream, popcorn, peanuts, and soda. It was amazing.
The view was pretty amazing too.

It was pretty amazing even though the Orioles lost :(( We were totally exhausted so we went back to the hotel and we slept like the dead.... until the air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night. Hence one reason for my less than rave review. We did not have to wake up super early but I could not sleep in our sauna of a room. So my husband decided to head to the club level sitting room to grab is some breakfast. It was 8:30 and there was absolutely nothing but toast, boiled eggs,  and orange juice left. Pretty disappointing. So we decided to just head out to our next adventure..

We drove to Solomons and went jet sking and fishing with Bunkys Charters.

We caught a ton of fish (me more so than my husband).

It really was a great weekend though. I am so thankful to have such an amazing husband to share my life with. I am truly a lucky girl!

Life update.,

Kinley learned to ride her bike without training wheels and she graduated from PreK! Go Kinley!

I can't believe I will have a kindergartener next year! It's crazy how time flies.

We celebrated by taking the girls to a movie.. Bad idea. Addalyn made it through the previews and she was done. So me and the little went home while daddy and Kinley watched the movie.

My wonderful husband celebrated a birthday!! We celebrated my husbands 26th birthday by taking a trip to the casino.

That's about it. We've had a pretty relaxing summer. Spending tons of time outdoors before the cold rolls upon us again.
As a last note I just want to say how lucky I am to have such a daughter with such an amazing personality and this last year she has grown from being mommys baby to a little lady. She is so independent and smart. She has such a bright future and I can't wait to see how much she grows and matures next year in kindergarten. I love you meganmike! You will always be mommys baby!!

Disney World

You know I have to say that I am officially OBSESSED with all things Disney now. Disney World is truly the most magical place on Earth. It is amazing the level of service you get there. I literally did not want to come home and can not WAIT to  plan our next trip.

When I first started telling people that we were going to Disney World I recieved very negative responses... "You're not going to enjoy it".. "It's a waste of money" .. "You spend your whole day waiting in lines in the hot sun".

But I knew Disney world is not like going to Six Flags it is an investment and like with any other investment you need to plan.

So I spent months planning (I even had a notebook devoted to just Disney World) and I knew all there was to know about Disney World and it was truly the BEST vacation we have ever had.

If you are not into planning then Disney World is not the place for you. You WILL NOT enjoy yourself and would have wasted A LOT of money. If you do not plan.. You will spend your day in the hot sun waiting in lines or roaming around trying to find a ride without lines. You will eat hotdogs and hamburgers the whole time and your kids will be irritated and grumpy and the trip will be a disaster.

I can happily say that I took a one year old and a five year old (who has a meltdown at home on a daily basis) and we did not have ANY meltdowns.

Post 2 on Disney World will tell you how...

DIY Magic Bands

Its all Disney all the time around here right now! We've got 28 days until D-Day as my husband calls it. We got our Magic Bands in the mail a couple weeks ago and their pretty blah so I did some searching and saw that people have been customizing them so off to Michaels we went (she was not excited to be in Michaels if you can't tell)!

My band is red so I thought a Minnie inspired band with white polka dots would be perfect. My husband wouldn't wear anything too crazy so some random placed white mickey heads were perfect for his blue band.

These are Martha Stewarts douber set. They made perfect round circles.

The paint I used was Martha Stewart's multi-surface high gloss.

They turned out pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.

Now all I have to do is find something princess worthy for the little divas pink band :/

Easter Sunday at the farm

We decided to load up the truck and drive the hour and half (unbeknownst to my husband.. Oops) to Ticonderoga Farms in Virginia. I read the reviews before going and they were not good at all but I decided to chance it since they had an Easter Egg hunt and all day activities and I'm glad I did. They charge for admission and tickets to do certain activities but the majority of the activities are included in the admission charge. We bought tickets which we ended up not using because of the crowds the lines were extremely long for the ticketed events but we still had a great time.

They have amazing slides for the littles and mommy and daddy to enjoy too.

Meeting the Easter bunny was a suprise (although unwelcome by baby Noelle)

Easter weekend in the DMV area..

Part 1 (because our weekend was so cool it deserves 3 parts)
Yeah I know, I'm a week late but we had a great weekend and I wanted to share!

We have been living in Annapolis nearly 3 years and we now often take for granted living in a place where there is really TONS of things to do everyday. So this weekend we decided to take advantage of EVERYTHING :)

My husband has upcoming finals so he studied most of the weekend except Sunday when he graciously closed his books in honor of Easter and tagged along.

We started our weekend of at The Cherry Blossom Festival. We have never seen the Cherry Blossoms so we were supper excited.

A little back story on Cherry Blossoms..

Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The gift and annual celebration honor the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued close relationship between the two countries.

It was very crowded but very well organized. There were many stations set up for kids to do crafts and face painting and such, food trucks, live music and dancing and also a beer garden for adults. It was really an amazing event.

But I do have to say that P&G did an amazing job with their tent. There's nothing worse than going to a festival and because there's only portable potties  (can you say "ew") within a 5 mile radius having to find a discreet place to change a diaper.

P&G set up two tents. One tent to give out diapers and wipes and another tent set up as a changing station, complete with disposable pads and hand sanitizer. Pretty amazing not having to slide Baby Noelle down in her stroller && have to quickly do the poop and scoop lol. Good job P&G!

Introducing to the World Wide Internet.. The Wrights!

Well hello there :)) My first blog post. I am beyond excited! I have wanted to create a blog for a longggg while now but as always life got in the way, but with my two little girls getting bigger by the day and scrapbooking really just not working out (how in the world do parents of kids under 6 scrapbook on a regular basis?) I'm finally here! .. So without futher adu Drum roll please... Introducing...

Me, Tia. I am a 22 year old wife to a full time law student and mother to the two most beautiful (I'm not the least bit biased) girls ever. Yes, I'm pretty crazy. I am also a professional clothes washer, housekeeper, babysitter, chauffer, and children's party planner. haha no but seriously I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home with my girls and to be able to event plan for children which is AMAZING. I'm also a country girl through and through! ROLL TIDE! So I will undoubtedly say some things that will make you raise an eyebrow.. You have been warned.

This hunk is my wonderful, kindhearted, patient husband, Rashad. He is a graduate of Alabama and currently a student at Howard Law School. (I'm just a teeny bit proud as you can see) He is a lucky guy I tell you! To be surrounded by three doting women what a guy would give lol.

Our first born and the reason for every gray hair her daddy will ever have. Our princess, Kinley who just turned 5. She is a diva in every sense of the word. She is a little fireball of energy. What I would give for half her energy! She is currently in preschool. Oh, how time flies.

Our one year old, Addalyn Noelle (or as we like to call her Baby NoNo), our silent destructor. Lol. Seriously she is the quietest baby I have ever seen. The complete opposite of her sister. She will be sitting quietly watching cartoons one minute and the next filling the toilet with tissue.

And my husbands mom and dad, Latrice and Kirt.

Tia.
